His aim was for them to participate in a process to develop principles for responsible investment<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unpri.org\/about-us\/about-the-pri\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(Process for Responsible Invest<\/a>ing). The term ESG was actually <a href=\"https:\/\/www.institutional-money.com\/magazin\/produkte-strategien\/artikel\/wer-hat-s-erfunden-60316\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">invented<\/a> by a Swiss man, Ivo Knoepfel, in 2004 \ud83d\ude09 He produced the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unepfi.org\/fileadmin\/events\/2004\/stocks\/who_cares_wins_global_compact_2004.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">study<\/a> \u201cWho Cares Wins\u201d on behalf of the United Nations, which used the acronym ESG for the first time. ESG stands for \u201cEnvironmental, Social and Corporate Governance\u201d.   <\/p><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-5691ffc\" data-block-id=\"5691ffc\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">ESG investing therefore <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unpri.org\/sustainability-issues\/environmental-social-and-governance-issues\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">incorporates<\/a> environmental, social and corporate governance aspects into the investment process. The aim is to reduce risks in financial investments and optimize financial performance. ESG investments aim to achieve a return in line with the market and merely try to avoid negative effects.  <\/p><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block-heading--v2 stk-block stk-0aa434f\" id=\"investieren-fur-eine-bessere-welt-impact-investing\" data-block-id=\"0aa434f\"><h2 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\">Investing for a better world: impact investing<\/h2><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-c38060f\" data-block-id=\"c38060f\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">Impact investing goes one step further than ESG investing.\nThe intention here is to make a positive contribution to solving environmental or social problems in addition to generating a financial return.\nThis means that investments are made in companies, organizations, projects and funds that work directly on solving such problems.\nWith impact investments, measurable social or ecological goals are the top priority and the return is secondary.\nThe Global Impact Investing Network<a href=\"\">(GIIN<\/a>) therefore states that impact investments must meet four requirements:    <\/p><\/div>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" data-block-type=\"core\">\n<li data-block-type=\"core\"><strong>Intentionality<\/strong>: You want your investment to have a positive social or environmental impact.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li data-block-type=\"core\"><strong>Expected return<\/strong>: With an impact investment, you are basically aiming for a positive financial return or at least a return of capital. It is not about \u201cdoing good\u201d or philanthropy. Depending on the strategy and investment, the expected return ranges from a return below the market level to returns in line with the market or asset class.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li data-block-type=\"core\"><strong>Traceability<\/strong>: You want the effects of your investment to be recorded using measurable criteria and documented transparently.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li data-block-type=\"core\"><strong>Additionality<\/strong>: You expect the effect achieved to be significant and convincingly demonstrated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block-heading--v2 stk-block stk-6845862\" id=\"achtung-vor-greenwashing-bei-nachhaltigen-finanzprodukten\" data-block-id=\"6845862\"><h2 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\">Beware of greenwashing with sustainable financial products<\/h2><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-45fad2d\" data-block-id=\"45fad2d\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">Greenwashing is a term used when companies or financial investments present themselves as more environmentally friendly or socially responsible than they actually are.<\/p><\/div>\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">There is often a misconception that taking ESG criteria into account contributes to sustainability goals. However, this is not the case with most ESG investments. There is a difference between whether you \u201conly\u201d want your investment to be compatible (\u201caligned\u201d) with climate targets and whether you want to make an additional contribution (\u201cimpact\u201d) to achieving sustainability goals.  <\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-34ae5df\" data-block-id=\"34ae5df\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">At the end of 2022, the Federal Council clarified in its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsd.admin.ch\/newsd\/message\/attachments\/74576.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> on greenwashing in the financial sector that financial products that only reduce ESG risks pursue a purely financial investment objective and should <strong>not<\/strong> be labeled as sustainable. This includes 9 out of 10 institutional investors and 8 out of 10 asset managers. The remaining investors are satisfied with returns below the market return (14%) or with capital-preserving returns (12%).  <\/p><\/div>\n\n<div style=\"min-height:303px\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/datawrapper.dwcdn.net\/LoN7i\/full.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-b479560\" data-block-id=\"b479560\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\"><\/p><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-9e95081\" data-block-id=\"9e95081\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">And what about effective performance?\nThe more than 300 investment professionals also report on this.\nMost (79%) report that their impact investments performed financially as expected or even better.\nNine out of ten investors also estimate that the intended impact was achieved or exceeded.   <\/p><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-977fbf4\" data-block-id=\"977fbf4\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">The study therefore refutes the widespread view that impact investing necessarily costs returns.<\/p><\/div>\n\n<div style=\"min-height:234px\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/datawrapper.dwcdn.net\/qbRFh\/full.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><\/div>\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\"><\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block-heading--v2 stk-block stk-f51e5e6\" id=\"zusammenfassung-impact-investing-oder-nachhaltig-investieren-mit-esg\" data-block-id=\"f51e5e6\"><h2 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\">Summary Impact investing or sustainable investing with ESG<\/h2><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-e7db320\" data-block-id=\"e7db320\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">ESG and impact investing are two different forms of sustainable investing, but they have different goals and impacts. While sustainable investing with ESG primarily aims to reduce risks for your financial investments, impact investing aims to achieve an environmental and\/or social impact in addition to financial returns. It is important to be aware of these differences and to compare them with your own motivations for sustainable investing. In this way, you avoid disappointment, become clear about your own expectations of sustainability in the portfolio and can implement them accordingly.   <\/p><\/div>\n\n<div
