FIRE or financial independence means that we use our own resources and smart investments to make ourselves independent of the traditional employment market.   <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you have enough, you can get off the hamster wheel and live your life as you wish. Financial independence means having the freedom to decide whether or not you want to work or what kind of work you want to do and how much.   <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block-heading--v2 stk-block stk-52629e7\" id=\"warum-fire-immer-aktueller-wird\" data-block-id=\"52629e7\"><h2 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\">Why FIRE is becoming more and more topical<\/h2><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-f14a728\" data-block-id=\"f14a728\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">Money rules the world, that is the case in our capitalist society. However, our society has a problem with the distribution of money. Up to now, money has been paid for land, labor or capital &#8211; the fundamental values of an economy. But what if machines increasingly do the work? What if there is no longer enough work for everyone?    <\/p><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-3d1fc4a\" data-block-id=\"3d1fc4a\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">We can see it with the pension funds: the legally mandated personal provision in one&#8217;s own pension account is being eroded by redistribution.\nThe current system is not suited to our ageing society.\nDiscussions about an unconditional basic income are getting louder and the first municipalities and states are already experimenting with it.  <\/p><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-2f7f5ca\" data-block-id=\"2f7f5ca\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">If you don&#8217;t want to rely on the system, take action yourself.<\/p><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block-heading--v2 stk-block stk-efef5de\" id=\"fire-in-der-schweiz\" data-block-id=\"efef5de\"><h2 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\">FIRE in Switzerland<\/h2><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-f59567a\" data-block-id=\"f59567a\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">By European standards, we are a country with high living standards and relatively secure social structures. However, there is growing nervousness: will we still be able to afford this standard tomorrow? Can we maintain the supremacy of the franc?  <\/p><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-b1a2873\" data-block-id=\"b1a2873\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">Even if we are still earning at a high level today, we are equally affected by technological progress and thus by the decline in the importance of gainful employment. This is also shown by the boom in entrepreneurship. <\/p><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-db1a36f\" data-block-id=\"db1a36f\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">We still have an excellent starting position for FIRE &#8211; enough money to achieve financial independence more quickly, as we achieve higher incomes in a strong currency compared to other countries.<\/p><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-heading stk-block-heading stk-block-heading--v2 stk-block stk-3e20ee6\" id=\"wie-du-finanzielle-unabhangigkeit-erreichst\" data-block-id=\"3e20ee6\"><h2 class=\"stk-block-heading__text\">How to achieve financial independence<\/h2><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-50898bd\" data-block-id=\"50898bd\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">Financial independence is different for everyone. Basically, it&#8217;s about earning enough income to live according to your own ideas. <\/p><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-0d34b1c\" data-block-id=\"0d34b1c\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One option is to temporarily work a high-paying job and save. We are talking about a quarter to a third of your income. The more, the better. Until you have enough to get out and live off your assets or the income from smart <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smolio.ch\/en\/wissen\/investing-for-beginners-with-these-8-tips-youre-on-the-right-track\/\">investments on the stock market<\/a>.     <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-9e38a37\" data-block-id=\"9e38a37\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">Another option is to continue working, but to invest less time in it and ideally online and therefore flexible in terms of location.
